Stephanie Crane, Sales Director – Carnes Crossroads in Summerville
Assisted living facilities are also adopting technologies to keep residents safer, said Stephanie Crane, sales director at The Blake at Carnes Crossroads in Summerville.
The facility has implemented the Accushield Visitor Management System, which tracks visitors and vendors, replacing traditional pen-and-paper sign-ins. This allows The Blake to track who’s coming and going, and it also tells how many visitors a resident receives so that volunteers can visit those who may not have as many.
The Blake requires vendors and third-party care providers to become accredited with Accushield, ensuring they’ve been properly trained and credentialed before entering the facility. It costs $9 a month for a person to become accredited through Accushield.
Crane said this fee, which gets paid to Accushield, can help ensure that patients are receiving care from the same provider time and time again since third-party vendors and caretakers aren’t going to spend money to accredit excess people.
