5 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day

5 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day, from all of us here at Accushield!

We want to celebrate all of the mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers out there, especially those within the communities we serve.

From the time we are born, our mothers have been there for us providing support, guidance, and love beyond measure, and we want to thank them for everything that they have done. Most importantly, we want to make sure every mother feels recognized. To share some love, we have sent letters to seniors in four of our communities through our Senior Pen Pal program.

We want to encourage you to make your mother feel loved and appreciated on this special day!

Here are some ideas to help get you started:

5 Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day

  • Create a personalized photo album filled with favorite memories together
  • Send her flowers
  • Order her chocolate
  • Bring her new books from her favorite author
  • Visit to make new memories or call to make her smile

Make Sure Your Residents Feel Loved

Mother’s Day is a special day for all mothers, and it is especially important for those in senior living communities. We know that the older generation often feels forgotten and ignored, so it is important to make sure that these mothers feel appreciated and loved. It is also a great opportunity to show our appreciation for the incredible women who have nurtured us and our families over the years.

As our founder, Charles Mann, states, “isolation and depression go hand-in-hand, so understanding who the least visited residents are can improve overall community health and prevent move-outs from unhappy residents.” Be sure to celebrate all of the mothers in your community and make sure they are getting the appreciation they deserve. Loneliness is a growing issue among seniors throughout the nation, and “a report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) points out that more than one-third of adults aged 45 and older feel lonely, and nearly one-fourth of adults aged 65 and older are considered to be socially isolated.”

With this in mind, we created the Love Meter feature which provides insight into how many visitors each resident has received in your facility to combat the many issues associated with isolation.

From the Accushield Family

We also want to recognize the many moms, here at Accushield, for all of their hard work and dedication both in the office and at home. Motherhood is such an incredible gift, and we want to honor our employees for all they do. Thank you!

From our family to yours…
