Record Flu Season: 2022- 2023

Record Flu Season: 2022- 2023

Influenza Positive Test Reported to the CDC by U.S. Clinical Laboratories, National Summary, october 2, 2022- December 3, 2023

Did you know the week of November 26, 2022 saw the highest number of Flu cases in a single week since 1997? We’ve been tracking Influenza as much as you have, and we want to support you this holiday season with advanced Influenza screening and document collection. Seniors are especially susceptible to this virus, and they are at a much higher risk of serious complications. In fact, 90 percent of deaths worldwide related to influenza A virus (IAV) strike men and women aged 65 and older each year.

According to the CDC, vaccination is critical for health care workers and other people who live with or care for people at higher risk to keep from spreading flu to them. This is especially true for people who work in long-term care facilities, which are home to many of the people most vulnerable to flu.

What’s Next for Accushield?

Going into this new year, we are continuing to expand our product lines to support infection prevention and control issues in nursing homes, assisted living, and other long-term care facilities (LTCFs). There is a lot to look forward to in 2023… Here is a quick glimpse of whats to come:

Respirator Fit Test

Respirator Protection is number 2 on the list of the most cited OSHA violations for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. OSHA requires a Respiratory Mask Fit Test during the onboarding of new staff at any nursing homes, assisted living, and other long-term care facilities.

Soon, you will be able to manage your respiratory mask fit program within Accushield.

  • Create a standard RFT program across your organization

  • Easily identify employees due for their annual respirator fit test

  • Remove compliance uncertainty with pre-built, OSHA-approved RFT Qualitative and Quantitative protocols

Reputation Accelerator

Customizability and sharing is where we are headed next. We are specifically thinking about your ability to:

  • Control frequency and message content for email and SMS text messages

  • Share your Accushield Ratings on your website

  • Google Business Page review attribution

Agency Tracking

Here is what you will be able to do with future releases of the Agency Staffing feature from Accushield:

  • Gain clarity on annual budgeting and know exactly how much money is being spent on Staffing Agencies

  • Corporate-level reporting and view of all operations

  • Community administrators retain the authority to verify and approve billed hours

  • Community administrators can set a limit on the number of hours a contract worker can log in per day

  • Clearer view of total amount spent per month, or per year of Agency skilled workers

  • Ability to address staffing shortages more efficiently
